Privacy Policy Hotel Old Dutch

Version dated May 24, 2018. (Adapted to the updated privacy legislation AVG.)

You also want to be able to move freely online

Thank you for visiting our website www.hotel-olddutch.nl where clarity is a great thing. For further interest, please fill out a contact form here.

This requires consciously informing and securing

As a company, we are obliged to inform you about how we handle your personal data. What happens to it, for what purpose, and how it is stored and secured. This is set out in this Privacy Statement. It should be concise, transparent, understandable and easily accessible. These values are so close to what we -among others- want to radiate with our website (simple, rich, open, clear, connecting), that designing this statement was actually fun.

Your information will be handled carefully, confidentially and respectfully

Of course. If you fill out a contact form or use our reservation system, we will only use your information to contact you. If you request contact through the contact form, we use your e-mail address and/or telephone number to contact you. Any personal comments you may include will not leave our (secure) mailbox. More about that below in detail.

Exactly what personal data is involved?

Because you visit the website, fill out a contact form, and/or use the services of "Hotel Old Dutch", your personal data are processed: first and last name, address information, telephone number, e-mail address, IP address (the address from which the website was visited, or in other words the Internet connection used) and data about your activities on the website.

Why are these being requested?

To contact you and provide services. We logically use your name and contact information to maintain contact. Your data are also used to analyze visitor behavior to improve the website.

Your data will not be sold to others. Nor are they used to compile comprehensive visitor profiles, nor for decision-making based on automated processing (that is, by computer programs or systems without human intervention).

Will your data be shared with third parties?

Yes, only if necessary because of a legal obligation or legitimate interest such as reasonable business practice:

- bank, because of payment processing

- tax advisor, because of access to invoices with address information

- website host, for storage of data from contact forms

- FaceBook Pixel, for the analysis of visit data website

- Google Analytics, for the analysis of visit data website

- SEO optimisaite, provides insight into visit times per page

What happens while you surf?

Technical and functional cookies are used to make our website work properly and ensure ease of use. In addition, through Google Analytics general visit data is tracked, including the IP address. With SEO optimization, the visit time per page is tracked in order to perfectly match the length of the texts to the average visit times.

Cookies - make them work for you

A cookie is a small and simple text file that is stored on your computer or mobile device the first time you visit a website. Through your Internet browser settings, you can opt out of cookies (no longer save cookies), delete all previously saved information, and be notified when a cookie is sent. Please note that some websites may not function as well if you disable all cookies. (Including ours.)

Google Analytics - in a privacy-friendly manner

This analyzes visit and click behavior on the website. This information is stored by Google on servers in the United States and processed in reports about the functioning of the website. On the websites of Google and Google Analytics you will find their privacy policies with more information.

This data collection is done in a privacy-friendly manner; I have anonymized the unique customer portion of the IP address, "data sharing" is turned off, and no combination of other Google services with Google Analytics is used.

Google may provide this information to third parties if Google is legally required to do so, or to the extent that these third parties process the information on Google's behalf. We have no influence on this.

Your data is well secured.

We take the protection of your data seriously. Your data is stored offline on our PC and encrypted online. Our computer is secured with appropriate and effective technical measures, and the website uses a reliable SSL certificate.

How long will your data be kept?

No longer than necessary to realize the purposes for which your data is collected. There is one exception: like any business owner, we are required by law to keep my records, including invoices with address information, for seven years.

Is something wrong, do you want to see your data or have it deleted?

Please contact us and we will make it right for you, at the latest within 14 (fourteen) working days. Should you have reason to do so, you can object to the processing of your personal data and/or file a complaint with the Dutch Personal Data Authority.
